Speakers
Dr. Kyle Steeves
Eldale Veterinary Clinic
Kyle graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College (OVC) in 2011. Upon graduation Kyle started working at the Eldale Veterinary Clinic as a large animal veterinarian and has been there ever since. He completed the dairy health management continuing education program at OVC in 2019. This is a certificate program that focuses on dairy health management. Kyle is on the executive for the Ontario Association of Bovine Practitioners (OABP) and leads the OABP’s RVT committee.
Dr. Phil Meadows
Technical Services Veterinarian, Boehringer Ingelheim
Phil graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2001 and worked as a veterinarian at Mitchell Veterinary Services in Mitchell until Sept. 2022. He is currently the technical services veterinarian with Boehringer Ingelheim Canada. Phil completed the veterinary Dairy Health Management Certificate program at the University of Guelph in 2019. In recent years, he has taken an interest in milking equipment function and milking management as it relates to milk quality. He plans to continue this service with Boehringer Ingelheim in support of dairy veterinarians across the country.
Dr. Dan Shock
Business Unity Manager – Ruminants, Hipra Animal Health
A 2008 graduate from the Ontario Veterinary College, Dan practiced food animal medicine in Eastern Ontario, returning to Guelph in 2011 to start a PhD in epidemiology. His research project focused on identifying risk factors for poor udder health. Upon graduation in 2014, Dan has spent time in the pharmaceutical industry, as well as consulting both nationally and internationally to solve mastitis issues on farm. Currently, Dan is the business unit manager and technical services veterinarian for HIPRA Animal Health Canada – a company with a strong track record in developing and commercializing novel preventative products to drive improvements in animal health.
